Goethe-Zentrum in Tirana was founded in October 2012 under the name “Deutschzentrum” as a successor to the German-Albanian Cultural Association “Robert Schwartz” and enjoys the status of a non-governmental organization, which has, inter alia, two essential tasks: promoting and spreading the German language in the Republic of Albania and contribution to the cultural exchange between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Albania.
Goethe-Zentrum offers German language exams in headquarters premises as well as German language courses in two suitable teaching environments: central Tirana office (Skenderbej Street, No. 1); Elbasan branch (“Dyli Hajjire” neighborhood). As an exclusive and accredited partner of the worldwide active Goethe-Institute our center provides support for the recognition of the German language in Albania and promotes national and international cooperation in the field of culture.
Goethe-Zentrum conveys a complete image of Germany through information about its cultural, social and political life. With its network of Goethe-Institut and Goethe-Zentrum representations, cultural associations, reading rooms as well as German exam and learning centers, it works to meet the key objectives of Germany’s cultural and educational policies abroad. Goethe-Zentrum is also a partner of public and private cultural institutions, municipalities and businesses.
This center combines the experiences and concepts of its partners at home and abroad with its professional competence, collaborating with them in an ongoing dialogue.
